Irish Winter Festival satellites starting on Paddy Poker
June 24, 2009
Paddy Poker have just announced details of the Irish Winter Festival that they will be sponsoring.
The tournament will run from 23rd October-26th October 2009 and will be returning to the Citywest hotel in Dublin, which housed last years event as well as the Irish Open earlier on this year.
The tournament will feature an estimated prizepool of €1,000,000 with the main attraction being the €1,500 + €150 Irish Masters main event which will start on Saturday October 24th and run for the subsequent three days. The festival will kick off a day before though with a $150 + €15 NLH rebuy Super Satellite.
A €500 + €50 NLH freezeout tournament is pencilled in for Sunday October 25th, with a €300 + €30 Round-Of-Each (Holdem & Omaha) freezeout tournament taking place on Monday October 26th.
“I’m particularly excited about our new Round-Of-Each freezeout, a tournament which many players have hoped for” a spokesman for paddypowerpoker.com said. “We’ve done our best to make the Irish Winter Festival a ‘must-attend’ festival for both local and international players.”
Time will tell just how much of a must-attend it is, but certainly last year’s festival gained a lot of positive feedback from those that attended, so there’s certainly no reason to think that this year’s festival should be any difficult.
Paddy Poker have already started up a number of weekly satellite tournaments which are being run every Sunday evening costing $200 + $15 with the winners being awarded an Irish Winter Festival tournament package consisting of an Irish Masters ticket, accomadation costs and all expenses.
There are also a number of daily feeders which means that you can still win a place in the weekly satellite without needing to pay such a large buy-in fee. As usual, all loyalty points will count towards the Paddy Poker bonus meaning that new players can gain up to $600 when they register a new account with Paddy Poker.
