I’d have won something too, seeing as a series of bounty and re-buy tournaments have just been announced to celebrate one of the biggest days in the horse racing calendar.

The “Why The Long Face?” promotion will run throughout the course of the festival and will feature bounties worth up to $100, should you manage to knock out the special ‘Featured Horse’. The name of this horse will match the winner of the day’s big race, so if Big Zeb comes home in the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Wednesday evening, he will have a $100 bounty placed on his head in the poker tournament that night.

“Why The Long Face?” will also host a number of re-buy tournaments which will take place every morning of the festival. It’s presumably designed to allow punters to get themselves warmed up before they head off to the races … in which case, it will probably achieve its objective as these are no ordinary re-buys – they’re NL Speed re-buys.

They will cost players $1+.10 and will kick off on 10th March at 11.15am GMT.
